A vacant and windowless concrete building along the riverfront in downtown St. Louis. Powell Square stood five stories tall and towered above other industrial buildings. Its graffiti-covered concrete frame was highly visible from from the Poplar Street Bridge and the cars that travel I-55 through downtown. December 28th,2012 the city issued a demolition permit; they said Powell Square had become a safety hazard. Powell Square was located on Cedar Street, surrounded by industrial buildings.
