The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs.
Wake up to the sights and sounds of one of the world’s premier wildlife destinations. In the Masai Mara Reserve live 95 species of mammals and 570 species of birds; an impressive number, making this area a unique destination for game safaris, one of the best places in all of Africa.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Ashnil Mara Camp is a large resort-style tented safari lodge in Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. The camp overlooks the confluence of the Mara and Olkeju Rivers, with forty luxury tents set amongst the riverine forest. This is a fairly new addition to the region, with a modern feel and more of a hotel atmosphere than that of a traditional and remote small safari camp. Having said that, it will appeal to those who appreciate an upbeat family-friendly lodge with all the modern facilities and the peace of mind that comes with knowing that the entire property is fenced. But out beyond the fence lurks magnificent wildlife; cheetah, leopard, large prides of lions; and of course the wildebeest of the great migration making their way across the landscape.
View
Enjoy an early breakfast at the camp, checkout and conduct a game drive en-route with an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people to witness the singing and dancing that is part of their daily lives and sacred rituals.
A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Souvenir shopping and a scenic stop at the edge of the Great Rift Valley before arriving in Nairobi between 3 and 4 PM. Day rooms, dinner, and activities can be arranged depending on the timing of your flight (additional cost). We will transfer you from Nairobi to the airport for your international flight.
