The Great Smoky Mountains Infrared Workshop

Come join us for 3 days of spectacular opportunities for Infrared photography in the Great Smoky Mountains.  Great Smoky Mountains National Park encompasses 861 square miles, and we will do our best to capture as much of its beauty as possible.    During your 3 days of workshop you will be guided to some  of the most perfect locations, and given hands on instruction on how to make stunning IR images.  If you arrive with the interest in learning, you will leave with beautiful images.

 

We will meet each morning and proceed to spend  as much time as possible exploring this wonderful park. 

 

 

During this workshop you will receive hands on instruction in:

 

Infrared Photography

Getting the right exposure 
Creative composition skills
Perspective
Use of f-stop for Depth of field 
Working with natural light 
Auto Exposure Bracketing 
Introduction & Basics of High Dynamic Range Infrared  photography HDR

 

 

 

Thanks to Life Pixel, there will be available a full spectrum camera and each of the Infrared filters Life Pixel offers for conversion.  

 

Thanks to  Lensbaby you will receive instruction on how to use and compose artistic images with the Lensbaby lenses.  

 

The people at Real Deal Brazil will be giving one participant selected at random a Tarp Hat which will be perfect for this location.  

 

 

 

What to Bring:


Digital Camera 

Wide angle lens
Tripod (not required, but extremely helpful)
Memory cards 
Water bottle
Extra camera battery
Walking shoes

Payment & Registration
Payment for workshops must be received in full at the time of registration. Your spot in the workshop is not secure until  your payment has been received and the required forms have been returned. Forms will be emailed to participants. Payment can be made by credit card via Paypal.

 

 

Cancellation Policy
Reasons for cancellation must be presented in writing.  Cancellation policy is as follows:

90 days prior     10% Cancellation fee

 60 to 89 days    25% cancellation fee.

30 to 59 days    50% cancellation fee.

*No refund will be given on any cancellations that are less than 30 days prior to the start of the workshop.

There will be no exceptions to the Cancellation Policy.

Insurance
The photographers/instructors are not responsible for non-refundable costs associated with cancelled trips. It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance.

Terms & Conditions
This workshop will take place in a National Park, and you must  agree to abide by all rules, restrictions, ordinances  and regulations governing this location. Failure to do so could result in your  removal from the workshop with no refund of workshop fees.

Standard Release
You consent to allow any photograph or video that is taken of you and/or your property during the course of the workshop to be used for promotional purposes with no fee or compensations.

Release and Waiver
All workshop participants must agree to all the terms and conditions stated above as well as sign a release and hold harmless waiver. This agreement is required and a condition to participate in this  workshop. Your payment for this workshop constitutes full agreement to the Polices stated above.   Refusal to comply with and sign the policies and waiver form will automatically cancel your participation in this workshop.
